WORKING WITH ADULTS
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Everyday life has its challenges, but sometimes it can feel more difficult. This can happen during a significant transition, in the middle of or after a crisis, or due to a challenging childhood.
It’s common to think that a lightning bolt of wisdom or self-knowledge will hit you one day upon the occurrence of some arbitrary event: a birthday that divides evenly by 10; a new job; a new relationship.
Suddenly, everything will be different and, you tell yourself, you’ll be happier and more fulfilled than you’ve ever been. If you’re like most people, though, you might spend your whole life waiting for that burst of inspiration to hit. Change occurs incrementally, not magically.
I will help you recognize your negative behaviors and thought patterns and focus on accessing your inner strength while exploring your thoughts and feelings. These are the first steps toward promoting personal growth and self-reliance, which will lead to living a happier and more fulfilled life.
WHAT CHANGE LOOKS LIKES
It’s saying you’re sorry after you lose your temper with a co-worker.
It’s choosing not to scream at your son when you trip over his lacrosse stick.
It’s turning off your phone at dinner to have a real conversation with your spouse and children.
HOW IT WORKS
Whether you are looking for short-term help or long-term care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) teaches you how to identify negative patterns and behaviors, while also setting realistic goals for you to effect change. My work focuses on supporting you to increase your self-esteem, access your inner strength and resilience, and help you to understand yourself better.
You already possess the necessary skills and strength to live a life you can enjoy. You may just need some help recognizing and implementing them. Together we’ll work to help you learn how to navigate the myriad challenges that everyday life presents.
“I’ve been more successful since I have had Lexi as a resource. She has provided me with the perfect blend of common sense and distinguished knowledge on navigating life.”

Here are some questions to ask your insurance company:
Does my plan provide me with out-of-network reimbursement for psychotherapy?
Is there a deductible I need to meet before you will reimburse me?
Please keep in mind that in order for you to use your insurance, I will have to give you a mental health diagnosis, which will become part of your permanent medical record.
