WORKING WITH ADOLESCENTS & TEENS
(AGES 7-17)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Even children in loving families can experience emotional difficulties. Feeling anxious at times is a normal part of growing, changing, and learning. But worry and anxiety can become disruptive in ways that lead to avoidance, missed school, outbursts, conflict and, often, depression, if left untreated.
Many children in this age range are unaware of the tools that can help them navigate these challenges. For a parent, it can be profoundly distressing to see your child struggle, but not know how to respond in a constructive way.
Most adolescents already possess the necessary skills and strength to live a life they enjoy. They need some help recognizing and acknowledging these skills. CBT can be very effective in helping kids navigate stress and anxiety. It teaches adolescents how to identify negative patterns and behaviors, while helping them set realistic goals to effect change.
Together, we’ll work with your child so that your child may learn how to navigate the myriad challenges that everyday life presents.

As an “out-of-network provider”, I provide invoices (also called “superbills”) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement to you. I encourage you to call your insurance company to understand what it may reimburse.
Here are some questions to ask your insurance company:
Does my plan provide me with out-of-network reimbursement for psychotherapy?
Is there a deductible I need to meet before you will reimburse me?
Please keep in mind that in order for you to use your insurance, I will have to give you a mental health diagnosis, which will become part of your permanent medical record.
